Currently, the specialists are concreting the foundation slab of the reactor building and erecting the walls of the turbine building.

This is a welded metalwork that consists of 24 sections – two separate tiers with 12 sections each.

The concreting volume comprises about 2.5 thousand cubic meters and the overall weight of slab is about seven thousand tons.

These are the support truss, the thrust truss, the reactor dry containment, and the heat insulation of the reactor pressure vessel cylindrical part.

They are busy with construction of facilities of turbine islands in two power units and the evaporative cooling tower of power unit 2.

Specialists from SMU 1, SMU 2, and the Energy Supply Department are now working at the construction site.

This work has been performed by specialists of TİTAN2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT ANONİM ŞİRKETİ, a Russian and Turkish joint venture. The whole structure was handled and installed with the help of Liebherr LR 13000 heavy-duty crawler crane.

These systems immediately respond to any leaks of oil products, shut gate valves and, thus, prevent spills.
