The TITAN-2 Holding has for the first time become the winner of the annual corporate bid organized by Rosatom State Corporation for RPS and industrial improvement projects.
The project "Ensuring the deadlines for the completion of the Leningrad NPP-2 Power Unit 3 construction milestones in 2025", launched at PJSC SUS and continued by the general contractor JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, has been awarded the first place in the nomination dedicated to construction time reduction.
The project was initiated by Evgenii Iatsenko, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 Construction Director. Aleksandr Kuchma, PJSC SUS Chief Engineer, was the project manager, and Konstantin Khudyakov, LNPP Facilities Program Director at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, acted as the working group coordinator. A joint team of specialists from various divisions and subsidiaries of the holding involved in the construction of new power units at the LNPP-2 took part in the project implementation.
The project was launched in December 2024 with the ambitious goal of eliminating a three-month backlog in just ten months. The goal was exceeded, and in September 2025 the team successfully installed the first tier of the inner containment, that is a key stage in the construction of Power Unit 3, a day earlier than planned. Thanks to the RPS project implementation, the team managed not only to complete the installation of the inner containment on time, but also to introduce RPS engineering standards at the LNPP-2 construction site, ensure effective interaction between all participants in the construction process, and improve the quality of work by implementing the "first pass commissioning” indicator.
Aleksandr Kovyazin, Project Coordinator and Head of the Division for Work with Russian Projects for RPS Department of PJSC SUS:
“The success of our project has been possible thanks to the well-coordinated work of our team, which included representatives of the customer and general contractor, designers, and our own workforce. Konstantin Khudyakov and Vadim Sergeyev (Head of CID-2 at PJSC SUS) have played a special role in the project implementation. We have mobilized all the resources of the holding, allocated roles and deadlines clearly, and implemented more than 19 improvement proposals at different levels, starting from operating personnel to job superintendents. This allowed us not only to get back on track, but also to establish practices applicable at other construction sites”.
The competition jury paid special attention to measurable results. The project made it possible to reduce the time required to complete critical work by 89 days without increasing the budget. Significant savings in labor costs have also been achieved. Moreover, the methods developed for coordinating, mapping processes and engaging personnel are planned to be rolled-out at other SC Rosatom facilities.
The final round of the bid was held in the online defense mode, where the project was presented by Konstantin Khudyakov, LNPP Facilities Program Director at JSC CONCERN TITAN-2. The experts highly estimated both the strategic approach to time management and the practical feasibility of the proposed solutions in real-life construction production conditions. The experience gained within the project framework has already been recognized as successful and will be applied in the construction of the LNPP-2 Power Unit 4.
