During the working visit, Alexander Shutikov, together with the First Deputy General Director of Rosenergoatom Concern JSC for the implementation of capital projects Dmitry Tveritinov, Director of the Leningrad NPP Vladimir Pereguda, Director of the Leningrad NPP Facilities Program of TITAN-2 CONCERN JSC Konstantin Khudyakov, got acquainted with the progress of work at the site of two future VVER-1200 power units’ construction.
At the moment, specialists from JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 have begun the main construction period and are completing work on vertical leveling and soil movement. Construction of pits for the “nuclear and turbine islands” for the third unit is underway. The installation of lighting masts for the industrial site is underway, and work is underway on the finishing coating of bypass and on-site roads. Work continues on individual investment projects: a combined fire extinguishing pumping station and a 110/10 kV transformer substation.
The managers inspected the main facilities and assessed the construction process. Following the meeting, Rosenergoatom General Director Alexander Shutikov noted:
“The work is progressing ahead of schedule. The construction of a nuclear power plant, for all its complexity, multi-tasking and significance, is a familiar and streamlined process for builders, where there is an understanding of how to solve certain problems. There is already experience in the successful construction of the first two power units of the Leningrad NPP-2, and new units are being built at the Kursk NPP-2. We have accumulated invaluable knowledge and skills that will be in demand here at the site.”
