For that, control assembly of the turbine cylinders is underway.

Low pressure cylinders covers are being installed in order to check alignment of the inner and outer cylinder casings splines. During this process, the measurements are taken, alignment of the casing per connector is measured, and all the deviations from required parameters are eliminated. This helps to further ensure the tightness of turbine unit components connections.

The upper part of the LP cylinder outer casing (cover) weighs approximately 99 tons. Total weigh of the load with the sling is 101 tons. The installation is slow in order to prevent the load from rocking.

Each of the four cylinders is checked once the inner casing is ready. As of now, first, third and fourth casing of the LP cylinders and casing of the HP cylinder are checked.

Installation of the turbine onto the rotor barring is the key task for the current year. This means the turbine will be fully assembled and will be rotated by the electric motor. Installation of the turbine onto the rotor barring will enable to confirm the assembly quality and show that turbine is ready for steam supply. This is the final stage of turbine unit installation. Adjustment works will commence afterwards.

Note:

Titan-2 Holding is the largest in the North-West group of companies, constructing the most important nuclear industry and power facilities. The company performs a full range of construction and installation works from engineering to commissioning.

Titan-2 Holding is the general contractor for the construction of the Leningrad NPP-2 power units. The Holding Companies perform all the civil, installation, and electrical works at a construction site. The works are carried out in the reactor, turbine, power supply, water supply, heat cogeneration buildings and other power unit structures.
