This complicated activity was performed by the JSC “MSU-90” first area and Mechanization and Motor Transport Department specialists.
Installation was performed in several stages. Upper part of the transportation casing had been preliminary removed from the protective tube unit, and then the specialists commenced connecting multifunctional lifting beam to the transportation platform. After that, they moved on to connecting it to the PTU. Total weight of the structure exceeded 100 tons.
Several hours of intense work later, the protective tube unit was lowered into the inspection shaft. Here the equipment will be stored till it is moved to the reactor shaft. This operation will be executed under the year key target – control reactor assembly.
