Trial process of charging the simulation zone of the reactor is ongoing at the first power unit of the LNPP under construction, which aims to provide hot and cold run-in. To do this, specialists use the simulators of fuel assemblies.
In total, 163 FAs will be installed in the reactor shaft. From the storage of fresh nuclear fuel in special transportation containers they are transferred to the Central hall of the reactor building. With the help of transport lock trestle crane simulators are lifted to the desired level, after that they are installed into a cooling pool, using a polar crane. The coordinates for nuclear fuel movement were already entered in the refueling machine. The process is controlled remotely.
All equipment necessary for the nuclear fuel charging was installed and prepared for the operation by specialists of the holding "TITAN-2" companies: JSC "MSU-90", JSC "CMS" and JSC "SEM".
