Specialists of MSU-90 perform alignment of the turbine steam path at the turbine building at the level +16,000.

The steam turbine is 53 m long and weighs more than 2000 tons. The turbine is a single-shaft five cylinder unit consisting of a symmetrical two-flow high-pressure cylinder (HPC) and four symmetrical two-flow low-pressure cylinders (LPC).

At present the equipment is disassembled. Turbine rotors and diaphragms are dismantled. Using special laser equipment, specialists are checking the accuracy of mounting of turbine wicket gates, which the steam rotating the turbine shall pass through. As turbine shall rotate at 3000 revolutions per minute, the assembly shall be done with high precision up to microns.

Gradually turbine parts are mounted onto their standard place. Mounting of heavy-weight parts of the turbine is carried out by the polar crane.

It is planned to complete assembling the turbine by the end of this year.
