The seminar was attended by the representatives of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, Fennovoima, RAOS Project Oy and the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland (STUK).

Experts of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 shared with the Finnish guests the unique experience gained during construction of the new power units at the Leningrad NPP.

Grigoriy Naginskiy, General director of the company, emphasized the project’s importance for JSC CONCERN TITAN-2. He informed that currently the team is bringing the Detailed Design documentation to a common standard. Deputy Chief Engineer Lyudmila Kobzareva gave a presentation on data collection at the production sites, the Safety Culture and how gained expertise will be applied to the NPP construction.

Andrey Garusov, deputy General director of the public company SUS, reported that many construction processes of the second power unit of the Leningrad NPP were optimized based on the experience gained in construction of the first power unit.

During and after the presentations the Finnish colleagues asked a number of questions regarding various topics - from equipment inspection during NPP construction to various work techniques, like concrete pouring.

It has been decided to hold such events on a regular basis to share the experience.

AO CONCERN TITAN-2 is the main subcontractor for the NPP Hanhikivi-1 construction project at Pyhäjoki, Finland, and the general contractor for the construction of the new units at the Leningrad NPP (Leningrad oblast, Sosnovy bor).

NPP Hanhikivi-1 will house a Russian-designed VVER 1200 MW PWR reactor, part of project “NPP-2006”,  and as is scheduled to start generating electricity in 2024. Nuclear power plant project conforms to IAEA and EUR norms and regulations, and adapted to meet the Finnish safety requirements that are the most strict in the world according to experts.
