An open doors day was held on the Hanhikivi 1 construction site on Saturday, 15th October 2016. The event gathered large numbers of people, with 1,400 people visited the site in the course of the day. The event centre for the day was in front of the Fennovoima training building, which was the departure point for organised bus tours of the construction site.
The large number of visitors enjoyed the traditional Finnish pea soup and coffee on offer. Fennovoima, RAOS Project and Titan-2 employees distributed light reflectors and balloons and told the public about their work on the Hanhikivi peninsula. There was also an area in which subcontractors on the Hanhikivi 1 project displayed their equipment.
