The installation of the stator in the pre-design position required high precision and the use of tailored rigging and hydraulic systems.
Preparations for the operation included a complex of engineering works, that is reinforcement of the machine room floors, installation of temporary support structures and arrangement of a special rail track for transporting equipment to the installation site.
The specialists lifted the stator to a +18.5 meters elevation. The operation was carried out without cranes using a hydraulic rigging system with constant geodetic control.

“The installation of the stator in the pre-design position at Power Unit 2 is a milestone. This is one of the heaviest and most dimensional components of a turbine generator, so it is extremely important that the construction part, temporary structures and installation technology work as a single system. Any deviations at this stage immediately affect the subsequent equipment alignment and assembly. Thus, the exact design position confirms the quality of the work carried-out and the readiness of the machine hall for all subsequent installation operations”.

“Based on the experience gained while working at the NPP Power Unit 1, we have successfully applied our accumulated expertise here. Due to this, the installation of the turbine generator stator at Power Unit 2 has been completed on schedule and in full compliance with all safety requirements. The main challenge was an extremely tight deadline, which required us to be extremely precise and efficient in installing the hydraulic gantry system”.
