The installed steel structure weighed 52 tons, and its span exceeded 42 metres. The installation was carried out using a powerful Liebherr caterpillar crane. The operation required the utmost precision: the truss had to be lifted and installed into the designated opening between previously installed structures, aligning the mounting assemblies with the embedded elements. The builders compare this delicate work to threading a needle.
Thus, this year, a complete set of seven block trusses, weighing a total of over 500 tons, has been installed on the roof of the turbine hall. This achievement marks the completion of one of the most complex and large-scale construction stages.
The next key task will be closing the building’s heating circuit by installing wall panels. This will create the necessary conditions for continuing work during the winter: specialists will be able to begin installing the turbine compartment equipment and the power unit’s turbine unit itself.
