The permit confirms the project compliance with all safety requirements and environmental standards. The creation of a modern construction base will make it possible to organize effective management of all the power unit construction stages, ensure the compliance with high safety and work quality standards. Construction works are scheduled for February 2025.
Pavel Ivaskov, Head of the SS Directorate for the Construction of Facilities in the Smolensk Region of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2, noted:
"By starting to create the support infrastructure, we are approaching the active phase of the new power units construction project. Several dozen facilities are to be built as soon as possible, in order to start concreting the power unit No. 1 reactor in time. The key milestone, which is pouring of the "first batch of concrete", is scheduled for 2027. Currently, the vertical levelling of the site has been completed. The readiness for construction has been ensured." Last year, the specialists of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 completed the vertical levelling of the SNPP-2 construction site. Today, they are continuing to work on the construction of a temporary modular campus, administrative buildings, workshops and other facilities.
