Pilot and demonstration energy complex Proryv is being built on the basis of the Siberian Chemical Plant with the aim of creating a closed fuel cycle technology.

Alexey Likhachev visited the construction site together with the head of the TITAN-2 holding Grigory Naginsky, the general director of SHK JSC Sergei Kotov, the head of the Proryv PP of TITAN-2 CONCERN JSC Ioann Averyanov, and other heads of organizations participating in the project.

They inspected the main construction sites and got acquainted with the progress of commissioning work on the fuel fabrication-refabrication module (FRM).

Alexey Likhachev, General Director of Rosatom State Corporation:

“The main task is to complete all installation work on the fabrication-refabrication module and by the end of the year transfer it to the category of an operating facility. The first quarter of next year is the deadline for putting the FRM into commercial operation. This will be a busy year because the equipment shall operate under load and at industrial capacity. In 2025-2026, fuel production will begin within a closed cycle. There is nothing like this on the planet now, so this energy complex has attracted the attention of the entire global nuclear community.”

Concrete work is currently at its peak at the site. At the moment, construction of the walls of the reactor building and the turbine room is underway. Work is underway on the auxiliary buildings and cooling tower. Among the key events, the assembly of the reactor enclosing structures continues, the base plate is already ready. In addition, a LIEBHERR LR 11350 crawler crane with a lifting capacity of 1,350 tons arrived at the site. It will be used to install the base plate and enclosing structures in the reactor shaft.

Grigory Naginsky, General Director of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2:

“The main task for JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 is to reach the planned targets. If our specialists are already completing work at the FRM, then at the BREST site everything is ahead. The work is going quite well, but I think there is always room for improvement. However, given that such a facility is being built for the first time in the world, some adjustments are constantly taking place, designers make changes, then everything is moving as usual, we are proceeding according to plan.”
