The structure weight is 343 t, the height is over 11 metres, the diameter is 5.6 metres. The equipment was installed with the precision of tenth fractions of millimetre (maximum allowable horizontal deviation).

Sergey Butskikh, First Deputy General Director of JSC AKKUYU NÜKLEER, the Director of Akkuyu NPP being under construction noted the impeccable work of installation team and operators of lifting equipment and congratulated installation fitters, crane operators and other specialists on successful completion of the operation.

Earlier the following operations were completed in the reactor building of Power Unit No. 2: the corium catcher was installed, support and thrust trusses were concreted, dry shielding and heat insulation of cylindrical part of reactor vessel were installed. A support ring which bears the main weight of the vessel was installed immediately prior to reactor vessel installation.

Installation of reactor cavity lining was also completed beforehand. The lining is a metal structure located in the inner containment of the reactor plant. The parameters of reactor cavity lining are as follows: the weight is over 16 t, the height is 9.1 metres, the diameter is 8 metres. It is intended for reinforcement of concrete surfaces in order to improve encapsulation and ensure resistance to potential loads in the course of power unit operation and refuelling.

Currently construction and installation works are being held at all areas of construction of main and auxiliary facilities of Akkuyu NPP.
