This time, sections of the inner containment (IC) fourth tier for the second Power Unit reactor building, two boric acid solution storage tanks and two boron concentrate tanks, which would be located in the auxiliary building of the Turbine Building of the first Power Unit of the NPP under construction, were shipped. The products pass multi-stage quality control at all stages of manufacturing and delivery to the destination point, including by the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Turkey.

“We are working primarily according to the construction plan. We receive work plan and names of priority items to be manufactured and supplied from the construction site. All four Power Units are constructed concurrently. We are now commissioning the first tier of the fourth Power Unit,” remarks Anton Sidelnikov, Technical Director of LLC TITAN TECHNOLOGY PIPELINE.

The cargo is shipped from Sosnovy Bor to port Bronka by means of special trawls at night time so as not to interfere with the vehicle traffic. Prior to shipment to the port, the products are packed in the heat shrink film and placed into the special transportation cages. In this state, the products are placed into the hold or to the upper deck of the vessel, transported to Turkey and stored until their transfer to installation.

“There is a permanent TPL subdivision located at the NPP construction site in Turkey, specialists of which participate in the acceptance of our products and in all commissions. Therefore, we have all information regarding all stages of works with our products,” noted Yevgeniy Orekhov, Head of the Construction Base of LLC TITAN TECHNOLOGY PIPELINE.

Now steel structures and equipment for all four Power Units of the Akkuyu NPP under construction are in production. Except for the components of inner containment tiers and process tanks for the four NPP Power Units, specialists of LLC TPL will manufacture lining for the reactor cavity, reactor internals inspection shaft, spent fuel pool and container compartment of the reactor room of the third and fourth Power Units. Also manufacturing of process pipelines for the nuclear and turbine islands of the first Power Unit and the corresponding support and suspension systems begins.

The next shipment of steel structures for the Akkuyu NPP from the LLC TPL workshops is scheduled for April. The sixth IC tier of the first Power Unit and most of sections of the third IC tier of the third Power Unit will be shipped to the construction site in full.
