The SRF “SKIF” will be built in the Koltsovo Science City as part of the Science national project to implement a modern domestic network of new generation synchrotron radiation sources. The centre will include an accelerator and storage complex with experimental stations and auxiliary facilities. The SRF “SKIF” project includes a total of 28 buildings and structures.

CONCERN TITAN-2 was selected as a sole performer of the state contract for the construction of the SRF “SKIF”, including: construction and installation works, installation and supply of process equipment, as well as development of detailed design documentation. Completion of the construction of the accelerator and storage complex is scheduled for 2023, the deadline for commissioning the entire facility is December 2024.

The solemn ceremony for SRF “SKIF” construction commencement was attended by: Dmitriy Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Valeriy Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education; Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma; and Andrey Travnikov, Governor of Novosibirskaya Oblast.

At the meeting, CONCERN TITAN-2 was represented by: Vladimir Minaev, Director for Russian Nuclear Projects, and Vasiliy Beresnev, Director of Programs for Construction of Facilities in Novosibirskaya Oblast. Valeriy Bukhtiyarov, Director of the Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, spoke about the history of the project and plans for construction.

During the ceremony, a memorial pylon in the shape of the Greek letter gamma was unveiled, which symbolises the photon, a quantum of electromagnetic radiation. It will decorate the square in front of the facility′s central building.

The holding is the main contractor at the construction of the Hanhikivi 1 NPP in Finland and of the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey as part of the Russian-Turkish Joint Venture T2IC.
