The baffle collar weighing about 19 tons was installed in the reactor cavity at the design location.
It is designed to hold the reactor vessel in an upright position, thus ensuring the structure reliability and safety.
The crawler crane Liebherr LR 11350 lifted the equipment over the reactor building and lowered it inwards. The experienced installers and sling operators of JSC MSU-90 took part in the operation. During the installation, the distance between the baffle collar and the reactor cavity was only a few millimeters.
Now the specialists have to align gaps and perform welding works.
