The turboset assembly including all process systems installations were performed by teams of TITAN-2 Holding subsidiary companies.

Trial turbine run is the most critical operation to prepare the Power Unit for power generation. Started at 30% reactor capacity, it reached precisely the values necessary to produce enough for steam to turbine. First, it was rotated at no-load gradually raising its speed to design values.

"Turbine tests in no-load mode were successful. We reached 3,000 rpm. The unit runs faultlessly and smoothly”, - said Alexander Belyaev, the Chief Engineer of the Leningrad NPP under construction.

Next, the equipment and process systems will undergo a series of tests to double-check their reliability and safety. Only then, the Power Unit will be connected to the grid and start generating first kilowatt-hours for the Unified Energy System of Russia.
