Sulfur-hexafluoride current distributor longer than one kilometre will connect turbine buildings of the first and second power units with a complex 330 kV switchgear. 330 kV (330 000 volt) voltage will be transferred through it from turbine generators to consumers.

The sulfur-hexafluoride current distributor is a metal pipe consisting of sections. The length of each section is approximately 5.5 metres. Inside the pipe, there is an aluminum busbar with diameter of 125 mm. The pipe is filled with a special non-toxic gas – a mix of sulfur hexafluoride and nitrogen, with percentage ratio 50/50, which is used for insulation.

Specialists of area no. 3 of JSC “Sosnovoborelectromontazh" currently continue installation of support racks for the sulfur-hexafluoride current distributor. The total of more than 100 tons of support metal structures will be installed.

All the equipment for the sulfur-hexafluoride current distributor has already been delivered on site.
