The event was arranged by the Work Safety Department of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2. Not only engineers, but also construction workers took part in the competition. The competition took place at the Company’s Competence Development Center.
Previously, similar competitions were held among employees of occupational health and safety services of contractors. This year, the emphasis was on the line staff.
“We clearly understand where the main risks are. That is why we’ve decided to shift attention directly to the construction site and to those who work with the tools and at height every day. Not only dedicated specialists, but also every worker must know safety requirements. Our task is to ensure that employees are personally interested in this subject and comply with safety rules not only at work, but also in everyday life. We did not conduct a preliminary selection for subsidiaries and affiliates: the main criterion was the personal desire of a person to prove himself/herself,” said Alexey Smirnov, Deputy Head of the Occupational Safety Department, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2.
As a result, representatives of three subsidiaries of the Holding took part in the competition: PJSC “NBD”, JSC MSU-90 and UMIAT LLC.
The competitive tasks were divided into two stages. The theoretical part included knowledge of occupational health and safety rules during construction, reconstruction, working at height and operation of power tools. The practical part was held at the test site, where the participants demonstrated their skills in working at height and, most importantly, providing first aid.
According to the results of the competition, the winners were awarded with diplomas and cash certificates.

1st place – Vladislav Yarin, Senior site engineer, JSC MSU-90
2nd place – Alexander Krivorotov, Senior site engineer, SMU-13, PJSC “NBD”
3rd place – Ruslan Medvedev, Mechanic of load lifting facility installation shop, UMIAT LLC
Among the works:
1st place – Dmitry Maksimov, category 6 welding inspector, JSC MSU-90
2nd place – Kirill Panteleyev, category 6 installer of process equipment, JSC MSU-90
3rd place – Vladislav Sokolov, category 5 installer of process equipment, JSC MSU-90.
“The participants demonstrated high professionalism. I was a pleasant surprise to see the level of training and responsible attitude of the guys to work and application of safety rules. We hope that next year the number of contestants will be significantly larger,” said Olivia Rudyk, Chief Specialist of the Occupational Safety Department, JSC CONCERN TITAN-2.
The successful start of the pilot project at the Leningrad NPP-2 site gave an impulse to scale up the initiative. In the near future, it is planned to hold a similar competition at the construction site of the new power units of the Smolensk NPP-2 – also among workers and engineers.
