The crane will be included in the fuel path to the reactor and used for equipment transportation to the containment area. Its weight is 150 tons, and the lifting capacity is 360 tons.

During crane installation, 84 equipment items were mounted: sensors, encoders, motors, cross cabinets, control panels, heating and lighting devices. To put the lifting machine in operation, SEM construction electricians routed and connected over 2500 meters of cable and mounted 1.2 tons of metalworks.

As the works took place in the cold season at low temperatures, additional cable heating was required. What made the installation unique is that it was performed at the height of more than 40 meters.

In addition, SEM specialists also installed temporary power supply for the transport lock rack crane from the nuclear fuel storage building. To do so, 3600 meters of cable were routed and connected, and 1.4 tons of metalworks were mounted at elevation +41.2 m.

The transport lock rack crane has passed the required tests and will soon be put in operation.
