The installation lasted one working shift, the pre-assembly of the cantilever took 17days.
The man purpose of the cantilever truss is utilities arrangement: water supply, steam removal, ventilation, equipment of the passages for instruments and visual inspection of the core catcher. The gas removal pipelines to be installed in the cantilever ensure circulation of saturated steam and prevent the pressure in the reactor cavity from exceeding the permissible values.
The cantilever truss is also a support for some structural elements: the guide plate and the reactor dry protection. During inspections or repair works, it will enable access to the air inlet header, cooling of the dry protection and the guide plate, as well as the access inside the core catcher to the maintenance platform.
Then, the bottom plate installation will commence. It is yet another large-size element of the core catcher structure.
