The event was attended by the managers of the Russian-Turkish joint venture “TITAN2 IC ICTAS INSAAT ANONIM SIRKETI” that is constructing the plant, Grigory Naginskiy and Firat Cecen, as well as chairman of the Liebherr Board of Directors, Willi Liebherr, and member of the Liebherr-International AG management board, Sophie Albrecht.

Concern Titan-2 bought Liebherr LR 13 000 specifically for “Akkuyu” NPP construction. Currently, there are 4 such cranes in the world. The capacity of this unique hoisting mechanism provides for simultaneous construction of two power units. The crane was transported to Turkey by sea and assembled by Titan-2 Holding specialists who underwent training at Liebherr plant in Germany. They will further operate the crane during installation procedures.

Liebherr 13 000 lifting capacity is 3000 tonnes. Maximum lifting heights is 149 meters; maximum boom reach is 129 meters. The first operation performed by this crane at the “Akkuyu” NPP site was installation of the frame for the first power unit reactor cavity assembly.

Note:

Titan-2 Holding is the largest in the North-West group of companies, constructing the most important nuclear industry and power facilities. The company performs a full range of construction and installation works from engineering to commissioning.
