The height of the building reached 67 meters.

11000 cubic meters of concrete were laid and 3000 tons of rebars were installed during the inner containment construction. The thickness of inner containment reinforced cast concrete reached 1200mm, being in line with the design requirements. The construction personnel is about to erect the upper part of the dome – column. It will increase the building height up to 68.5m.

As noted by Pavel Ivanov, Chief Engineer of the Construction Supervision Division of the LNPP-2 Capital Construction Department, inner containment construction is complicated and time-consuming. It requires a lot of material, technical and labor resources. The concreting was performed simultaneously with containment pre-stressing system (CPS) arrangement; and now the next stage commences – prestressing of the vertical and horizontal CPS tendons in the reactor building dome.
