The installation of the dome equipment will finish soon. After that, the structure will be installed onto the reactor building.

For the last several months, the subcontractors were assembling the dome on the special bench. The structure is made of 37 metal plates and weighs approximately 170 tons.

To finalize the assembly, the specialists moved the dome to the nearby bench used to assemble the previous inner containment tier.

The dome is already equipped with the ventilation system. Today the specialists will finish the assembly of the maintenance platform located at the center of the dome. The fourth circle of the sprinkler system will also be installed here. This circle will reduce the steam pressure inside the inner containment in case of emergency. It will be used to spray boron and other chemicals to prevent radioactivity spreading.
