This operation is one of the most important along with installation of the reactor, steam generators, reactor coolant pump sets in the course of the construction of VVER-1200 Power Unit No. 2 of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant.

To ensure power supply for the reactor coolant pipeline welding process, employees of JSC SEM have installed six 10/0.4 kV substations next to the reactor building and a temporary power supply scheme for the systems involved in the operation: welding equipment, heating and heat treatment equipment, ventilation systems.

Specialists of JSC MSU-90 will perform welding of the reactor coolant pumps directly. The operation will involve 60 installers and 24 welders. They will have to mount 260 tons of pipelines and metal structures. It is planned to perform the full package of installation and welding works in 104 days. Currently, all elements of the reactor coolant pipeline and the equipment necessary for the performance of works are located directly at the installation site.
