The facility shall be used during the hot run of the Power Unit 1 equipment prior to the first criticality.

The Combined Gas Building consists of nitrogen and compressor stations.

The Compressor station includes six compressors. One, with a capacity of 12.5 thousand cubic meters per hour, is designed to test the containment. The other five, with a  capacity of 2.3 cubic meters per hour, will be used for technological purposes during operation of the power unit.

The Gas station is designed for storage of liquid nitrogen and generation of gaseous nitrogen that is essential in the launching of the reactor coolant pumps.

Liquid nitrogen is stored in two tanks. For obtaining gaseous nitrogen liquid nitrogen is delivered to a fluid pump, and then through evaporator and the reheater in the cylinders under a pressure of 20MPa.

The cylinders are connected with two headers.

Each header connects 16 cylinders with a volume of 400 liters. Then, nitrogen gas is delivered to the pressure reduction sites for further supply to consumers.
