The piece of equipment was manufactured by SMU-1, PJSC “Northern Construction Department” (SUS).

The cylinder structure is made of austenitic steel 08Х18 Н10Т. The height of the structure - 9,5 meters, diameter - 6,5 meters, net weight - 15,9 tons, 28 tons including assembly jig. The reactor cavity liner includes embedded parts, designed by Gidropress design bureau with a positional location accuracy within 2mm to be installed to the height of 9,5m.

Reactor cavity lining is the permanent formwork for concreting to be followed by installation of the reactor pressure vessel. Once positioned, the structure will allow to continue concrete casting to elevation +26,000.

This is the first structure of this kind to be manufactured by PJSC SUS at SMU-1. A special sectional positioner was used, and a “roll” method of operation. In future the sectional separable assembly jig can be used to manufacture such structures for other nuclear power establishments.
