Sergey Naryshkin, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation visited the construction site of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) on July 8th and familiarized himself with the construction of new power units and presented special awards to the best builders of Titan-2 holding.
During his working visit to the Northwest Federal District Sergey Naryshkin visited the town of Sosnovy Bor. He went through the turbine building of the first power unit of the Leningrad NPP, where specialists of JSC MSU-90 are mounting a turbine and its main parts. The State Duma Chairman appraised highly the complexity and magnitude of the operation, and also work performance in line with the schedule.
Sergey Naryshkin thanked builders for dedicated and professional work. He awarded wristwatches with the State Duma symbols to the best of them. Titan-2 employees Andrey Bratkov, Andrey Koleda, Roman Zabolotsky, Leonid Babayev, Nikolay Pozdeev, Vladimir Klimenko and Alexander Podstavin have been endowed with special awards of the holding.
Then Sergey Naryshkin was shown the Training Center of the Leningrad NPP. A simulator — a replica of the Power Unit central control panel is installed there. NPP personnel practices various emergencies on it. The distinguished guest was proposed to try out himself as a NPP operator - to turn an emergency protection key and to shut down the virtual reactor.
"The nuclear industry is one of the leading industries in the Russian economy. Therefore, commissioning of the Leningrad NPP-2 will allow to create huge potential for development of Sosnovy Bor and the whole Northwest Federal District for the decades ahead, will provide new workplaces and tax returns to the town budget", emphasized Sergey Naryshkin, the State Duma Chairman at the end of his visit.
