Journalists from federal and regional mass media visited the construction site of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant.

Guests saw how a turbine is being assembled in the turbine building of the first power unit. This responsible task is assigned to specialists of the MSU-90. Ilya Pshennikov, a foreman of Unit No. 3 of JSC MSU-90 answered questions of journalists, told about the principle of operation of the turbine and specifics of its installation.

Guests also became witnesses of an important technological operation. Specialists installed a simulator of fuel assemblies in a fresh nuclear fuel storage facility. In the future, when the power unit is in operation, nuclear fuel will be unpacked and move to the reactor in just the same way. Specialists are practicing this process by the simulators.

Vladimir Pereguda, the director of the Leningrad nuclear power plant met with journalists at the construction site. He updated the mass media about the course of construction of the new power units and the tasks, which should be solved on the way to physical starting-up of power plant planned for 2017.
