Specialists of the first Unit of JSC MSU-90 and Automotive Transport Department installed elements of thermal isolation of the cylindrical part of the reactor vessel into their design places in the reactor well. Two steel rings weighing 1,7 tons and 7,5 tons one after another have been moved one in the building to the level mark +8,000 by Liebherr crane having the loading capacity of more than 1,000 tons. Installation was done through an open roof of the building.
Thorough preparatory work preceded the operation. Employees of the first Unit of JSC MSU-90 have assembled thermal isolation parts and mounted a bracing - a special metal structure to lift the equipment.
After finishing the rigging of thermal isolation, the specialists set it into a design position, then removed slings and the bracing. The following stage of joint work of Titan-2 specialists on this site shall be the installation of a support truss.
