Its role is to provide exhaust ventilation in the reactor building and all auxiliary buildings of the nuclear island.
With the help of a powerful crawler crane Manitowoc 18000 the ventilating tower section was installed to the height of approximately 70 meters. This technically highly demanding installation operation was performed by contractor companies of JSC CONCERN TITAN-2 – LLC AtomSpetsStroy and PJSC “SUS”.
The unit consists of a rigid structure with the stack mounted inside. The ventilation stack will be 100 meters high.
Installation begins with mounting of the rigid structure followed by installation of the stack inside it. Ventilation stack sections are made of steel and have a diameter of over two meters. Each section is mounted separately.
In the nearest future it is planned to complete installation of the stack up to 100m elevation. Once completed, it will be followed by weld dressing and anticorrosive treatment.
