With the use of crane Liebherr LR 11350 the equipment weighing over 50 tons was put down on its regular place at level +14,500, using open-top method.
Reactor coolant pumps are intended for providing coolant circulation in the reactor plant primary circuit. The design includes four pumps. JSC "MSU-90” employees have been working with this equipment for a few months. At first they performed overturning and pre-assembly of the pumps at a special area near the reactor building, connecting them to bioshield rings and bottom spacers.
The second piece of equipment will be installed following the first one. Then, after completion of the assembly, next two pumps will be moved to their regular place.
