Tests are carried out at two main batching plants located on the territory of the Hanhikivi-1 NPP construction base and at a back-up plant located a few kilometers from the construction site.

These concrete mixes will be used during construction of NPP Nuclear and Turbine islands buildings and facilities. Testing is carried out by Ruskon Betoni, the Finnish contractor of JSC "CONCERN TITAN-2" and the main supplier of concrete to Hanhikivi-1, together with the University of Applied Sciences of Oulu. Tests are supervised by JSC "CONCERN TITAN-2", RAOS Project Oy (the Supplier of the NPP), Fennovoima (the Customer) and the Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Finland.

Experts will test for strength, density, watertightness, frost resistance and other parameters of 21 recipes and 63 concrete mixes, of which 8 to 10 mixes meeting the project requirements will be used during construction.

The total volume of concrete supplies for buildings of Nuclear and Turbine Islands is about 400,000 m3. The production capacity of the plants at the construction base is 120 m3 per hour each, and the back-up plant - 70 m3 per hour.
