The specialists of the Third Unit of JSC “SEM” accomplished installation of the main equipment for gas insulated switchgear (GIS 330 kV) at the Leningrad NPP site. This enabled the workers of adjustment organization to start the high-voltage tests.
The tests are conducted by the specialists of company “Atomtekhenergo” under supervision of engineering supervisor LLC “HD Service”. During the procedure a unique and special "High Volt" set of equipment is used that is capable of supplying voltage up to 680 kV. There only three such sets in this country.
The test purpose is to verify GIS assembly quality. To this end each section is supplied with a voltage of 450 kV, the rated voltage being 330 kV. If the equipment is capable of withstanding the higher voltage during one minute, the installation is deemed to be of high quality and ready for operation.
Up to this moment the specialists have verified more than half of GISes. The results are positive, not a single breakdown has been registrated. This confirms the high-quality of the assembly that was fulfilled by the erection electricians of the Third Unit of JSC “SEM”.
