Specialists of “Titan-2” subcontractors installed the equipment at the fresh nuclear fuel storage of Power Unit 1 for the LNPP under construction. The test run of nuclear fuel transfer will be carried out in the facility with the use of FA simulator.
All equipment required to accept the nuclear fuel, that is, racks, transfer jackets, tilting device, was installed by the specialists of the branch LCC “ECOSTROY”. It took less than one month to install the equipment whose weight exceeds 100 tons.
The travelling crane for the heavy-weight equipment transfer was provided by JSC “Automobile Transportation Department” that also supports installation of fuel assembly simulators.
Each FA is lifted, unpacked and installed to the transfer jacket to be transferred to the reactor building. Once the work is accomplished, the license can be granted for fueling the reactor with nuclear fuel. The fuel is expected to be delivered to the construction site of the Leningrad NPP as soon as next year.
