The operation shall last about a month and will include 78 tests.
At the stage of “hot” run the reactor plant equipment operability is to be checked: normal operation auxiliary process systems and safety systems. During the check the primary circuit shall be filled with water and heated. The main steam lines blowdown shall be performed with the use of service steam and primary and secondary circuits water-chemistry are to be adjusted.
During the tests the water in the reactor plant shall be heated to a temperature of approximately 300 degrees. The average heating rate of the process is 10 degrees per hour.
All switching during the “hot” run will be made from the unit control room. The work will be performed around the clock.
The operation will take place using dummy nuclear fuel assemblies, which are now put into the reactor. The successful “hot” run will allow specialists to proceed with a key challenge this year, that is, the reactor first criticality.
