Specialists of JSC MSU-90 and JSC UAT have mounted a supporting truss in the reactor building of the second Power Unit at the Leningrad NPP under construction.
The truss is a metal structure, which serves as biological protection for the reactor vessel, protecting it from loads and seismic shocks. In future it shall be filled in with special concrete having high radiation damage stability.
Prior to its installation the truss was assembled by specialists of the first Unit of JSC MSU-90. Overall weight of the structure is 140 tons. It was moved into the reactor vault by heavy duty Liebherr crane with capacity of 1350 tons.
